And even if you have been homeschooling for a while, suddenly not being able to go on field trips and places like libraries for resources can make many homeschooling parents feel frustrated or unsure how to continue.

Brain POP has resources in many subjects including, math, social studies, music and more! For every subject it gives problems to solve, learning games, videos, fun learning activities and  more. It also has resources for parents on how to incorporate BrainPOP into s regular homeschool routine.

Khan Academy is a non-profit organization that has tons of free online classes for kids from 2-18 and resources for teachers and parents. Their goal is to make quality education available to everyone around the globe

Easy Peasy is a great free curriculum that we use all the time. Every subject from preschool to beyond is on this sight. It also includes multiple learning games and is definitely one of our favorite favorites!  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Star Fall Starfall Education Foundation is a publicly supported nonprofit organization. The website is full of free and low-cost resources helping children successfully learn through exploration and if for children K-2nd grade.

ABC Ya offers over 400 fun educational games for grades K-6. The website is free for computer use and can be upgraded for use on cell phones.

Fun Brain is for grades PreK – 8th. It includes videos, games and books for children to read. The website is easy to use and makes learning fun and exciting.

All Subjects

Curiosity Stream Has hundreds of great award-winning documentaries for grades K-12. The documentaries cover many topics including History, Society and Nature. It also can be streamed on a computer, laptop, TV, i-pads and phones. It can also be streamed offline with tablets and phones.  CuriosityStream is also 40% off right now!

Outschool  is a great resource for all age groups. Outschool has online live video chat classes, taught by education professionals. It includes thousands of class options and is free to join with classes costing as low as $5  .

Udemy is an online website filled with thousands of courses for kids in 3rd grade all the way up through college. It also includes classes on how to be a Montessori teacher and other ways to teach. The courses can vary in price but you keep them for a lifetime. You can also check out the Udemy Facebook page for free and discounted courses.

iReady software package delivers student instruction, performance diagnostics and progress reports based on K-12 Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in Mathematics and Reading. iReady is frequently used in public schools and can be used at home for $6 per course a semester.

The questions and assignments done on iReady adjusts to the child’s capability by recording the child’s correct and incorrect answers. Teachers and parents can also log in and see their child’s progress and where their child may need extra guidance.

Discovery Education offers virtual field trips so you and your children can go explore the world without getting off the couch. Each field trip also comes with educational packets for children. Discovery Education is a public school resource but because of the effects of Covid-19 parents can now request access to the website for personal use. 

Travel + Leisure is a travel website. Sites like this are fun to look at with children. Afterwards encourage your children to write a story, create a game or just spend the afternoon doing imaginary play with them.  Find a fun trip you would like to go on and then pretend to go on that trip and/or study about those destinations. 

The San Diego Zoo has a website just for kids with amazing videos, activities, and games. 

Yellowstone National Park! Another great field trip on the couch. Watch it outside to help you feel like you are actually there or set up a picnic in your house.

Smithsonian No need to travel to one of the Smithsonian’s zoos or museums — this website brings your child everything from live video of the National Zoo to the Smithsonian Learning Lab right to their screen.

Free School Focuses on art, music, children’s literature and more and is perfect for children of all ages.

TheBrainScoop was made by Chief Curiosity Correspondent of The Field Museum in Chicago. She creates intriguing videos going to depth about things you might find in a museum. These videos are great when you can’t visit a museum in person!
