Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an American national holiday, and it is celebrated on the third Monday in January every year. Also known as MLK, he was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1929 and spent most of his life working hard to achieve justice and equality for all Americans, especially Americans of color.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is well known for his “I Have A Dream” speech which he delivered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.
“I have a dream that one day down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of “interposition” and “nullification”, one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today.”
