Las Vegas is one of our favorite road trips with kids, especially because it is a quick 3.5 hour drive from Los Angeles. When we need a break or getaway, we usually drive to Las Vegas. People tend to think Las Vegas is an adult destination only but it isn’t. It can be as kid friendly as you want it to be or as adult friendly as you want it to be. People also think Las Vegas is expensive, but again it can be as inexpensive or expensive as you want it to be. There are several cost-effective activities to do in Las Vegas and below I have highlighted 5 of them.

Getting To Las Vegas

Dollar Car Rental

We usually drive our car to Vegas, but this time we decided to rent a minivan so that it’d be spacious and we could enjoy the drive. When I learned about Dollar Car Rental’s new debit-card policy, I was excited about it and decided to rent a car from them.

A few things to note about Dollar Car Rental’s new policy:

  • The age restriction for renting cars with a debit card has been lowered from 25 to 20. This is especially important for young parents or college students who want to rent cars while they
vacation with their kids. This is also great if you are planning a long road trip and want to take along your niece or nephew who is a college student to help you drive.
  • The incidental hold amount has been reduced from $350 to $200, plus the cost of the rental, for both debit card and credit card rentals, which means more money in your pocket while you are on vacation.
  • Rentals booked more than 24 hours in advance will only require a debit card and driver’s license. Rentals booked less than 24 hours in advance, or rentals for Convertibles, Luxury and Premium vehicles, can still use a debit card but require two forms of identification and proof of return travel plans.
  • Dollar Car Rental accepts all debit cards backed by Visa, Mastercard and Discover. As long as it isn’t a prepaid debit card, you shouldn’t have any issues renting a car.

All these changes above just show how committed Dollar Car Rental is enhancing their customer’s experiences and sets a new standard for family travel, and I love that

I wanted to try out this new Dollar Car Rental debit card policy for myself, so I made a reservation for a rental, more than 24 hours before our trip, which was very easy to do online and required no money down.

The lady who helped us out at the front desk was amazing, the customer service was great. She chatted with the kids and got them excited about riding in a new car. Overall, we had an amazing experience with Dollar Car Rental and we plan to continue to rent cars with them. Especially because I can reserve a car with a debit-card and their rental car rates were so much better than everything else that I came across.
