After visiting Mexico several times, I was able to compile this list of 5 reasons why I will never visit Mexico again with kids. You’re probably wondering why I had to visit several times to make this decision, and it is simply because I wanted to be really sure about my decision not to visit with kids again.

Toggle5 Reasons I Will Never Visit Mexico Again With Kids
If you’re wondering why I will never visit Mexico again with kids, then read on below:
Warm Water Beaches
Mexico has some of the most beautiful beaches with clear water that we’ve ever come across. After visiting the warm water beaches in Mexico with my kids, all of a sudden, they don’t want to go to the beach in California anymore. Do keep in mind that these kids did not mind California beaches at all before we visited Mexico. Now all they talk about is how much they love the beach in Mexico.
Amazing Resorts
There are so many amazing resorts in Mexico. Because the U.S. Dollar has more value than Mexican Pesos, we are able to stretch our dollars hence allowing us spend more money in Mexico than we generally would at home. This gives the kids the impression that we are rich, when truthfully, we aren’t. The kids know that we can ball on a budget in Mexico, so they keep asking to go back.
Yummiest Food Ever
There is good food on every corner you go. From yummy street food tacos and churros, to amazing restaurants. I don’t think my kids and I have ever had a bad meal in Mexico. When in Mexico I don’t have to worry about what my kids will eat because they love Mexican food. We all love Mexican food so much that when we don’t have the time to fly, we simply drive to San Diego and cross the border to Tijuana to have authentic Mexican food. My cooking just isn’t enough anymore since they tried Mexican food.

Adventure Awaits
There are so many fun and adventurous things you can do in Mexico with kids. I ziplined in Puerto Vallarta with kids, Aiden experienced the Dolphin Encounter in Cabo, and we’ve climbed the Pyramids in Mexico City. There is a such a variety of things to do in Mexico with kids and ask to go back as soon as you get back from your trip. If I hear “I want to zipline in Mexico again” from the kids one more time.

The People
Mexicans are amazing people. They are so nice, ready to help you if you’re lost or if you need help with anything. They also love children and will walk up to them and chat with them, hug them and ask to take a photo with them. I am pretty sure my kids think they are celebrities in Mexico. They love the attention they get from strangers or more of, the attention they get from their new friends and family. Because Mexicans are that nice and welcoming!
As you can see, if you plan to visit Mexico with your kids, they will fall in love with Mexico and ask you over and over and over if they can visit again. Unless you are ready for multiple trips to Mexico a year, do not take your children to Mexico whatsoever.
PS: I hope by now you can tell than I am obviously just kidding about not visiting Mexico with kids again. Mexico is one of our favorite countries to visit as a family. Our family has fallen in Mexico and look for any reason to visit. We visit Mexico several times a year and plan to continue to. See how crowded the airport is on arrival in Mexico. You can tell from this that everyone wants to visit Mexico and loves to visit Mexico.
Where in Mexico have I been to with kids:
People always ask about safety, I just want to let you know that I have never felt unsafe in Mexico for any reason. On our last trip to Puerto Vallarta, I took all 4 kids by myself. I navigated Puerto Vallarta both during the day time and night time with all 4 kids alone and had absolutely no issues whatsoever. So please, don’t let the media deter you from visiting Mexico. Something bad isn’t more likely to happen to you because you are in Mexico. Anything can happen to anyone anywhere in the world, it’s called life!

Booking Your Trip – Tips & Tricks
How To Book Cheap Flights When You Travel
If you are looking to book the cheapest flights you can possibly find on the internet, then make sure to use Skyscanner when searching for flights. Don’t forget to download the Free Skyscanner App also which is very handy. This is how I was able to get $12.40 airfare from Los Angeles to London, as well as $9.40 airfare from London to Italy.
How To Book Affordable Accommodation When You Travel
When booking accommodation, TripAdvisor is the way to go because you can read reviews and see photos from other travelers to get a feel of where you will be staying. Other great sites to book hotels are HotelsCombined, Booking.com and Hotels.com. Don’t forget to check HomeAway and VRBO for house and villa rentals too. Perfect for when you travel with a large family, and also to save money when hotels are expensive. Another favorite of mine is BookVIP – they offer huge resort savings.
How To Book Activities When You Travel
My favorite website to search for activities, tours and especially skip the line tickets is Viator and Get Your Guide. This makes trip planning so much easier because you don’t have to search several sites as both websites have several options to choose from. Same also goes with TripAdvisor Attractions – you can search and book activities as well as read reviews.
How To Book Rental Cars When You Travel
Instead of checking every single website, I use RentalCars.com, Car Rental 8 and Skyscanner Car Rentals to find car rentals all over the world with just one click. If you plan to park at the airport, visit Airport Parking and make a reservation.
Why Travel Insurance Is a Must When You Travel
People book trips and forget the most important part, purchasing travel insurance. Because we travel often, I purchase our travel insurance through Allianz for a year at a time which means that we are covered for all trips within that year. Travel insurance will protect you and your family against theft, injury illness, flight cancellations and so much more. It is a MUST!
