Our family loves to travel. Aiden and I have been on over 100 flights – he’s been flying like a champ since he was 18 months old! While traveling with kids is more stressful than traveling on your own, the memories make it all worth it. It’s challenging, but so rewarding at the same time.

Of all the must-have items when traveling with kids, a backpack makes a huge difference. It’s so much easier to travel with a backpack than it is with a purse.

A backpack holds everything I need and lets me be hands-free. Plus, it evenly distributes the weight of my luggage on both shoulders.

The best travel backpacks for moms should be spacious, with enough compartments to help you stay organized. They should also be made of durable materials that will hold up well to frequent use and regular wear and tear.

If you’re in the market for a new bag, here are my recommendations for the best travel backpacks for moms.

The Best Travel Backpacks For Moms

Osprey Porter 65 Travel Backpack

Osprey Porter 65 Travel Backpack

My husband and I used the Osprey Porter 65 Travel Bag on our trip to SE Asia in 2016. We visited 4 different countries with only the bags on our backs. We didn’t want to worry about a checked bag potentially getting lost.

The Osprey Porter 65 backpack is one of the more expensive bags on this list, but it’s worth every penny. It has a total capacity of 65L, split between several compartments.

The walls of the bag are padded to protect your items from damage while traveling.

Additional features include lockable zippers on the main and laptop compartments, as well as a separate, spacious lower compartment that’s ideal for shoes or dirty clothes.

There are two side pockets and a front panel that includes a zippered pocket and key clip. It also has compression straps to minimize the bag’s overall size when it isn’t filled.

I can’t stress enough how convenient this bag is for moms traveling with minimal luggage. If you want to avoid checking bags, this backpack is a must-have.

Also, before you go, I highly recommend reading my post on how to travel with only a carry-on. Not having to bother with checked baggage is so freeing!

LAND Diaper Bag Backpack

LAND Diaper Bag Backpack

This bag is arguably the best carry-on backpack for moms. I wrote about this backpack in my post about Flying with Kids for the First Time

The LAND diaper backpack has two spacious main compartments as well as FIFTEEN pockets to keep all of your items neat and organized.

The main compartment has five interior pockets, and the front pocket has three insulated bottle pockets and one mesh pocket. There’s also an anti-theft back pocket and two side pockets.

The LAND diaper bag backpack is a durable, water-resistant backpack that can help keep all of your things organized while traveling.
