Black Lives Matter is a movement, not a moment. So even when things die down, we must continue pressing forward.

Black Createhers

We at @blackcreatehers are sharing some ways to stay involved and continue moving the needle in the back community. We have to lead by example and be the change we want to see, so we’ve compiled a list of resources that have helped us during this time of social unrest. Please be kind enough to share this with a friend.

2020 Primary Election Results

Please stay in the know of what is going on with the 2020 elections. Here are the live results of the 2020 Primary Elections.

List of Black Owned Businesses

According to a TEDx Talk by Maggie Anderson, she explains “a dollar circulates in Asian communities for up to 28 days, in Jewish communities for nearly 20 days, in white communities for 17 days and in Hispanic communities for 7 days. Yet in the Black community, a dollar circulates for only 6 hours”. How TF?“

Anti-Racist Books for Kids

Someone once said to me, “I had a black friend in college, I promise I’m not racist.” Another said “I have a black child, how can I be racist?” The “I have a black friend / I have a black spouse / I have a black child / I have a black dog (etc) so I’m not racist” narrative is so untrue.

‘In a racist society, it’s not enough to be non-racist—we must be ANTI-RACIST.’

Dear White Moms: An Open Letter about Children & Racism

The truth of the matter is that racism is learned behavior. Have you ever seen how a group of children just play and love on one another? That’s because all they know is love; racist individuals are children who became tainted along the way.

Find Your Role in Social Change

The “trend” of supporting black will die down and adjusting to the algorithm will be a new challenge to beat. I encourage you to BE PART OF THE CHANGE, NOT PART OF THE TREND. Don’t stop your support. Don’t stop learning and teaching your children to be anti-racist in an environment where racism comes all too easy.

Talking to Children About Social Injustice issues

As I am sure you know children often surprise us, at least mine do, with their level of knowledge on a particular subject and I can guarantee you this conversation will be no different. Studies have shown that children in preschool are keenly aware of racial injustices.

What this means for us as parents is having a stopping point for these types of conversations will be needed. Having an idea of how much information you are comfortable sharing with your children will help you better navigate the discussion.

Pull Up or Shut Up

If you are a beauty influencer, then you want to check this out. This campaign challenges brands to tell consumers how many Black people they have employed in corporate and leadership roles. If they want access to your Black audience, then they need to show and prove that diversity is important to them.

We hope that these blog posts were helpful, and you will be moved to share this with a friend. change starts with us and with the necessary knowledge, we are equipped to handle anything.

#BlackLivesMatter- yesterday, tomorrow, and forever.
